Like the fruit and burgeoning vegetables around us, it’s time to ripen, to grow personally, rather than run around and try to be efficient. Because we just can’t see clearly this weekend, we’re unusually permeable and processing strong ambient currents of feeling. Like the ripening fruit, we need to provide nourishing circumstances for one another and fertilize healing and growth as Mercury squares Neptune and the Sun enters Cancer on Sunday at 10:37 AM MDT.

Since late April we’ve been under a magical but confusing, sometimes crazy-making square between Mercury and Neptune. This week we’ve also dealt with an energizing Sun-Mars conjunction that has had lethal results. This aspect can make us eloquent, can promote great verbal sparring, but makes it all too easy for irritation to spike quickly into snapping anger, but an anger that doesn’t need to entrench. Together with the Neptune square, this anger can stem from delusion or misunderstanding. Both aspects taper off after this weekend and let us heal and build steadier, saner, momentum in the weeks ahead.

Over the weekend, look west just after Sunset to see a beautiful Venus, Moon, Jupiter conjunction, an aspect that can confer unusual luck and feeling. Let’s let this energy in and open our hearts bigger than our own heart’s ache. Individual relationships can flourish under this aspect or they can suffer from the overflow of our heart which can pour into a surplus of emotional expectations and imaginary projections and bring a melodramatic response. Keep opening the heart wider, with more compassion and acceptance.

Leo rules the heart; this conjunction calls us to our heart chakra. It can crank up our expressive reactions and turn any simple event into Shakespeare in the park, whether a tragedy or comedy is up to us. It can help us turn a real tragedy into an opportunity for radical love.

Venus and Jupiter run together all summer long, we’ll be talking a lot about this extra bounty of the heart– the compassion, creativity, and crimes of passion it can bring– for the next few months. This weekend it hits the spotlight as the Moon joins in. New relationships can spring up, old commitments can feel renewed. Our hearts could stretch into healing camaraderie across racial and social divides. To use this aspect wisely we have to care, to treasure the love we find. Because it turns up the volume of our emotion, this aspect could either mitigate or inflame otherwise difficult aspects of this summer, depending on how we use our emotional surplus.

Under this weekend’s conjunction, our solstice gatherings and arts festivals may be memorably creative. We might as well enjoy this magic because although we want practical changes, the nuts and bolts of them will be challenging through the weekend but get easier towards the end of the week. A bittersweet mood hits late Sunday as both the Sun and Moon leave extroverted signs and turn inwards, the Sun enters Cancer and the Moon enters Virgo a few minutes later, bringing our attention back to our family, back to our memories and our soul’s longing.

Next week brings a wake-up call for some of us. We may feel we’ve woken up from a dream or feel a cloud of uncertainty begin to lift. Whatever we’ve been avoiding or have misunderstood begins to become more transparent, whether we like it or not. If we’re lucky, will be presented with exciting new opportunity, or we may just itch for a break in our normal routine as Mercury finally clears it square to Neptune just as expansive Jupiter trines ingenious Uranus.

Summer solstice gatherings and social events will be memorably creative. Magic is in the air, prayer is strong, though we may feel an urge for more practical change we won’t be very efficient about it for a few more days, our thinking is fuzzy and our practical efforts may be temporarily blocked as Saturn semi-squares Pluto. This aspect can also bring up some interesting debate around the benefits and troubles of a limiting force, like our police force, our military or our personal disciplines. Let’s adjust our expectations to be more in line with our circumstances and make the most of this time.

A bittersweet mood hits later Sunday as summer begins as the Sun and Moon move from two extroverted signs (Gemini and Leo) to two introverted signs (Cancer an Virgo) around noon time. By Sunday night the stars ask us to bring our attention back to our family of choice or origin. Venus forms a challenging, bittersweet, Pluto that leaves our heart a little haunted and aware, longing for more scope or more healing.

Next week we may itch for a break in our normal routine or find an exciting new opportunity presents itself next as Jupiter trines Uranus. Necessity or boredom may be the mother of invention, we can dream up ingenious new ways of solving a problem. Our engineering skills or intuitive abilities can up for any lack of practical common sense. Towards the end of the week with have an opportunity deepen our relationship to ourselves and to one another or have an opportunity to open to new friendships of the soul.

Friday, June 19: Abrupt but friendly, warmhearted but fierce, it’s hard to get out of our own perspective and act with objectivity with the Sun and action-oriented Mars so close together and the Moon in expressive Leo. We may be easily but reasonably ticked off; we need to do something about what bothers us. But as the day progresses and the Moon approaches a conjunction to Venus tonight, our hearts warm up and we’re ready to engage. Creativity and attraction abound, but our swords stay close at hand. This is not a weekend to sit alone on the mountaintop but a time to engage our community wholeheartedly.

Moon enters Leo 12:22 AM, Moon sextile Mercury 1:35 PM, Moon quincunx Neptune 7:11 PM Moon semi-square Mars 11:35 PM,

Saturday, June 20: This serendipitous day may bring magical connections or miracles of compassion or solidarity as the Leo Moon conjuncts Venus, Jupiter, and trines Uranus. We’re not thinking too clearly, maybe it’s the dust of fairy dust in our eyes; the portals between the mundane and the magical thin. Our hearts may ache for something extraordinary and wonderful, something that soothes our soul longing. Given that, we still may not notice what other people need, though we can be gracious and generous when we do notice. Objective observance can be tricky. Dive into life fully tonight.

Moon conjunct Venus 1:58 AM, Moon semi-square Sun to 50 a.m., Moon quincunx Pluto 4:38 AM, Saturn semi-square Pluto 5:44 AM, Moon conjunct Jupiter 2:13 PM, Moon trine Uranus 3:07 PM,

Sunday June 21: Our intention and energy will matter more than the details, but we need to pay attention to the nuts and bolts of what we do as the Moon squares Saturn this morning. Summer begins as the Sun enters self-protective, family-oriented Cancer at 10:37 AM MDT, the Moon enters thoughtful Virgo a few minutes later, and our mood shifts, grows more internal. The energy is pleasant, warm if a bit defensive; our attention comes back from the collective and returns to the personal. Follow up on any opportunity to connect with old friends, family, or with the garden.

Sun quincunx Saturn 12:51 AM, Moon sextile Mars 6:53 AM, Moon squares Saturn 10:09 AM, Sun enters Cancer 10:37 AM, Moon enters Virgo 10:58 AM, Moon sextile Sun 11:00 AM, Venus quincunx Pluto 4:48 PM

Monday, June 22: There’s a fresh, curious if nervous and unrealistic vibe, this morning, which can bring both a desire to start over and a desire to drift away in the hammock on this first full day of summer. The Moon opposes dreamy Neptune today, Mercury squares confusing if inspired Neptune tomorrow, so there’s no point in pushing the river even though the industrious Virgo Moon can ratchet up our to-do list. We may feel so permeable, so aware of the aches and pains of the world. Our crazy may be showing. An ingenious Jupiter-Uranus trine seeds our thoughts and encourages us to make good changes in the long run, so let’s bring that Neptune in imagination and put it to work; what can we heal, grow, invent, or come to know.

Moon square Mercury 4:27 AM, Moon opposed Neptune 6:39 AM, Jupiter trine Uranus 7:46 AM, Moon trine Pluto 4:23 PM.

Tuesday, June 23: We may need a minute to hold still today, to tune into the demands of our inner world, of our prayer life, our empathy, or need to deal with some confusion, lie, or water damage this morning as Mercury squares Neptune. But later the waters received and the fog (mental and physical) begins to clear, and we could see some damage that we only in now realize needs repairing, or have to face a tough reality we have been avoiding. But all this can feed our ingenuity. Midday can be very industrious, let’s just avoid blame and help one another instead.

Moon quincunx Uranus 3:28 AM, Mercury square Neptune 12:08 PM, Mars quincunx Saturn 12:35 PM, Moon sextile Saturn 10:32 PM, Moon square Mars 11:12 PM then VOC, Moon enters Libra 11:40 PM,

Wednesday, June 24: Our defenses can spike in response to anything edgy or abrasive, but we may not want to admit it. Watch for a passive aggressive streak, we both want peacefulness as the Libra Moon squares the Sun and Mars, and need to know we’re safe as Mars enters Cancer. We can turn this impulse to nesting instead of defense, to domestic policy instead of military funding. Note people’s prickles and choose diplomacy; offer a blooming rose instead.

Moon semi-square Venus to 40 9 AM, Moon square Venus 5:02 AM, Chiron retrogrades 5:36 AM, Mars enters Cancer 7:32 AM, Moon semi-square Jupiter 10:40 AM, Moon in conjunct Neptune 7:30 PM, Moon trine Mercury 10:08 PM.

Thursday, June 25: Melancholy drifts amongst the verdant beauty this morning as the Moon challenges Saturn and Pluto, it leaves us tired in the face of some unfairness or worldly challenge. Afternoon brings more support to make creative changes as the Moon sextiles Venus and Jupiter. Gratitude of what we do have can refuel our efforts.

Moon semi-square Saturn 4:47 AM, Moon square Pluto 5:07 AM, Moon sextile Venus 11:15 AM, Moon opposed Uranus 4:20 PM, Moon sextile Jupiter 5:22 PM, then VOC.

( all times MDT)

This week the energy still swirls oddly even as events pick up speed. Mercury, patron saint of communication and modernity, turned direct yesterday but we’re not out of the mental fog yet. Mercury forms a challenging square to confusing Neptune (which turns retrograde today) one more time before it appears to pick up speed at the end of June.

This means we can both finally get those emails sent, yet continue to enjoy this summer’s imaginative Neptunian haze of soggy weather and unusual sensitivity. But we’ve got some cleanup work to do this week to straighten out delays, kinks, or misunderstandings that recently occurred. We may not even know about some of the glitches yet, or some of the crazy thoughts, but we’ll find out as we go along and then can get them sorted.

To help us clear this lingering haze we can call on an undercurrent of impatient brave physicality that kicks in as the Sun conjuncts energizing Mars while Mercury forms an irritatingly urgent semi-square with Uranus on Sunday. We want to get on with our life, may be ready to pivot or change direction and can easily get irritable about delays, as well as about the quirks of the human psyche (including our own). But let’s just chill and deal with it; an accepting attitude with wry, humorous patience can help us release the snags and keep the momentum going.

After a softer Friday, we turn into an interestingly pivotal weekend rife with nervous energy and quirky timing. Pleasantly quick dialogue or potentially sharp-edged debate hovers over deeper questions about security, work, and life-purpose as we wait for the tide to turn and ready our ships to sail out.

Saturn retrogrades back into Scorpio for the summer and asks us to get to some older unfinished business that affects our security, our work, our bones and teeth and the structure of our lives. It can help us put building blocks in the right place so we can really begin to build, whether we’re building our work or a shed in the back yard.

Early next week we can get started on a new chapter, and then may get distracted by personal issues or need more time for introspection or healing time than we’d like, but we can pick up momentum by the end of the week.

We may still feel Mercury is retrograde until it clears the last of three confusing squares to Neptune (May 9, May 29, and June 23) right around the summer solstice. The energy still swirls and will occasionally bring up our uncertainties, our confusion, self-doubts, drifting dreams, unusual sensitivity to beauty, and whiffs of depression. Our imagination needs time to explore and express, or it can interfere with our life. But this aspect, combined with a strong ongoing trine between bountiful Jupiter and electrical Uranus can bring some truly innovative, out-of-the box solutions. Major decisions or technological innovations made now (but maybe not announced for months) could open portals for a long time to come.

Friday, June 12: Morning is slow and sensual as the Moon enters Taurus and Neptune turns retrograde. Midday is perfect for sitting in a hammock, but can be frustrating to follow through on new projects; we are still spinning our wheels and working through the fog. In the afternoon, persistence can help us return phone calls and tie up loose ends. Tonight we may feel ambiguous about being sociable, but can appreciate getting out of the house and being somewhere new, as long as we’re not too far out of our comfort zone. Though we may feel a little argumentative mid-evening, we can drift more contentedly late tonight.

Neptune retrograde 3:07 AM, Moon enters Taurus 8:16 AM, Moon square Venus 8:11 PM, Moon semi-square Mars 8:36 PM

Saturday, June 13: It’s a sweet day for a graduation or other rituals of completion; we can feel the road behind this and the road ahead and may need to stand exactly where we are. Keep a steady pace through the day, don’t rush anyone. Evening is brings out our sybaritic quality, and evening to eat pesto and melon and other delights under the stars to flirt and debate under the stars as Venus semi-squares Mars and the Moon squares Jupiter. Like a rubber band that snaps back after being stretched thin, we may be resonating emotionally and say strange things. Note the release, and let go of the story.

Moon sextile Neptune 1:03 AM, Moon trine Pluto 9:37 AM, Moon square Jupiter 4:06 PM then VOC, Venus semi-square Mars 9:29 PM,

Sunday, June 14: This could be a pivotal day as the Sun conjuncts Mars. Our road may turn because either we are complete and ready to strike out on a new road, or circumstances are shifting around us and the road curves anyway. The energy is nervy, edgy; talk it out, but sort anxiety from reality and invoke a good sense of humor. Long-term questions about work and purpose are raised. The mood changes after dinner and becomes more erratic, irreverent, and excitable as the Moon conjunct’s Mercury.

Mercury semi-square Uranus 5:19 AM, Sun conjunct Mars 9:56 AM, Moon enters Gemini 11:50 AM, Moon oppose Saturn 11:52 AM, Saturn retrogrades into Scorpio 6:35 PM, Moon conjunct Mercury 8:26 PM

Monday, June 15: And now what: that is the question of the day. Use this softer, funny, short attention span day to do some interpersonal soothing and healing. Our taste may be enthusiastic but questionable so avoid long-term aesthetic decisions. Repair, reconnect, and catch up. Tend to relationships and let people coast. The conversation is important, the decision isn’t ready.

Moon sextile Venus 3:38 AM, Moon square Neptune 4:58 AM, Moon sextile Jupiter 9:04 PM, Moon sextile Uranus 11:42 PM, Sun semi-square Venus at 11:31 PM.

Tuesday, June 16: The new Moon at 8:05 AM starts a new cycle in outreach, communiqués, and public relations. What do we need to announce? Launch ideas this afternoon though don’t be surprised if they don’t coalesce until after the Moon enters Cancer around dinner time, a good time to check our gut intuition. Help people feel safe and comfortable tonight, and watch the spirit open.

Venus in conjunct Neptune 12:20 AM, Moon conjunct Mars 7:05 AM, Moon square Venus 8:02 AM, Moon conjunct the Sun 8:05 AM then VOC, Moon enters Cancer 4:50 PM

Wednesday, June 17: Let’s not let a passing cloud of self-consciousness convince us that we need to throw up our defenses. Be introspective, not touchy: look for the empowering answers within. Use imagination; envision a difference and share the dream as the Moon trines Neptune- or live the dream, and coast. Slow down and honor a wave of empathic emotion tonight as the Moon opposes Pluto.

Moon trine Neptune 10:40 AM, Moon opposed Pluto 7:42 PM

Thursday, June 18: Morning may be cranky or unsettled as the Moon squares Uranus. We can just feel edgy or out of sorts, or need to fix little things that nibble away at our contentment. Digestion can be touchy today and people may not be able to digest what we want to tell them. So speak with kindness rather than reaction. People may be a bit serious, but in a more proactive solution-oriented mood tonight.

Make hay while the Sun shines. Get done what needs to get done now while the stars support a relatively competent and functional week. With the Sun, Moon, Mars, and Pluto in earth signs as the weekend begins, let’s get sketch out plans for the next couple of months.

Because we can already feel our world slowing down, communications glitch, and an interest in the past swell up. Water problems and weather cause problems. Mercury, symbolic ruler of communication and transportation, squares confusing Neptune this weekend then turns retrograde May 18 – June 11 (and squares Neptune again twice as it does so, coming and going). But we can make the most of the introspective and reparative time ahead if we get organized now.

Friday brings a hard-working Capricorn Moon, with tough challenges and strong competence. This Capricorn Moon asks us to deal with logistics and get organized, but it also asks us to engage the conversation about the right and wrong use of personal, political, meteorological, and electrical power, the question of our time raised by the ongoing Pluto – Uranus square, which are stimulated right now as the Moon conjuncts Pluto.  We may also feel sadness drift through, a mourning for something we have recently let go or lost.

A sociable Aquarius Moon over the weekend helps us get us out and about and encourages us to work together common causes, whether we’re gardening the family yard or rescuing a town from a tornado or earthquake. But this weekend also brings a taste of this coming mercurial confusion as mental Mercury squares intuitive, imaginative Neptune. Mother Nature calls to us to frolic, but may also flex her muscles and humble us with both her beauty and power.  Be weather wise. Also be patient around confusing messages, notice how easy it is to misunderstand each other even when we are enthusiastically trying to connect. It will be so easy to get distracted and drop the ball, so if we need to really follow through and not forget what we’re doing with the Mercury/Neptune square, we have to make lists and hold on to the details carefully.

This little taste of Mercury glitches can help notice where we need to tighten up our efforts or repair lines of communication in order to prepare for Mercury retrograde season.  With Venus in sensitive, defensive Cancer right now—notice that people aren’t really fond of criticism, even if it is constructive, and may be seriously in need of an extra hug.

Mars enters talkative Gemini and the Moon enters intuitive Pisces on Monday which can sharpen our sensitivities as the week begins. By the week’s end, an Aries Moon helps us kick into high gear and accomplish a lot in a short period of time. Mars enters talkative Gemini and the Moon enters sensitive Pisces on Monday which can give us an interesting portable restlessness helps us adapt, but rattle our nervous system and sharpen our sensitivities to pollen into each other’s feelings as the week begins. Midweek an Aries Moon helps us kick into high gear and accomplish a lot in a short period of time.

Friday, May 8: Plan, organize, and accomplish on this efficient if slightly grumpy day. This morning, apologize if necessary or repair old wrongs and cleanup karma as the Moon squares the nodes. Take the mission seriously this afternoon as the Capricorn Moon conjuncts Pluto, but don’t believe a wave of discouragement. Do engage the conversation about what is the right use of personal and political power, the question of the decade.

Saturday May 9: Stay in the moment and do the work that needs to be done. Water damage can glitch the system, sleepiness or confusion can fog our morning as Mercury squares Neptune. It’s good to notice weak points and our communication or unfinished business that needs attending to, and deal with it for the rest of the week. Just don’t jump to conclusions. Late afternoon, if we can agree, we can get it done as the Moon squares Mars then enters Aquarius around dinner time; evening is more agreeable and sociable if stubborn. We lighten up this evening as the Moon trines the Sun and can mix business with pleasure, helpfulness with socialization tonight.

Mercury square Neptune 10:08 AM, Moon trine Mars 2:35 PM, then VOC, Moon enters Aquarius 5:21 PM

Sunday, May 10: Social obligations are wonderful but take time, we may both want to socialize and feel a clock ticking and a sense of urgency about tasks that need to be done. We may even have emergencies that need our attention now, even though conditions are confusing. Calmness and focus will help more than anxious busyness. Engage the conversation around brunch time as the Moon trines Mercury, and don’t over schedule or overeat this evening as the Moon opposes Jupiter. Use this expansive Moon to philosophize and get a better overview of the personal situation.

Moon trine Mercury 11:10 AM, Moon opposed Uranus 5:50 PM,

Monday, May 11: This morning can be productive if we get into a groove; people are helpful intentioned, but may miss our cues as the Aquarius Moon squares the Sun. Mars enters Gemini and gives us more flexibility and can make us restless like a tumbling weed. Respiratory systems may grow more sensitive, pollen bother us more as the day goes on and the Moon enters Pisces tonight. People can get a bit touchy and need for personal space. Feel the approach avoidance conflicts, and find a safe and cheerful way to proceed.

Moon square Sun 4:36 AM, then VOC, Mars enters Gemini at 8:40 PM, Moon enters Pisces 8:53 PM, Moon squares Mars at 8:53 PM

Tuesday, May 12: A spacey, intuitive imaginative and vulnerable feeling day as the Moon conjuncts Neptune in Pisces and squares Mercury. Use the more subtle perceptions to refine work, appreciate landscape, or intuit potential. Notice, but don’t give in to, and underlying anxiety which is a result of magnified perceptions. Instead, find a safe way to be sensitive.

Moon squares Saturn at 1:00 AM, Moon trine Venus at 5:15 AM, Moon conjunct Neptune at 1:02 PM, Moon square Mercury at 4:28 PM

Wednesday, May 13: The days may start off slower, more sensitive, maybe even a little homesick. There is healing work to be done as the Moon conjuncts Chiron this morning. We are open to beauty, but may feel the rough-and-tumble edges of life like sandpaper on tender skin. It’s hard to get in there and get our hands dirty, but is a good day to dream and vision and water the plants. Our energy and bravery pickup, and so does our belligerence as the Moon enters Aries late tonight.

Moon conjunct Chiron at 7:51 AM, then VOC, Moon enters Aries at 11:13 PM

Thursday, May 14: This is a good day to explore or break into new territory under an enthusiastic Aries Moon, but a tough day to do boring routine. Midmorning can bring some social glitches, we need to be spacious and look for in tension rather than action. While we are boldly going where we have not gone before, some interesting threads of our past can pluck our heartstrings as Venus squares the nodes. Tonight can overflow with camaraderie as the Moon trines Jupiter, it can also overflow with pugnaciousness if we start to dig in our heels.

Moon trine Saturn at 3:01 AM, Moon square Venus at 11:32 AM, Venus square the nodes at 8:55 PM, Moon trine Jupiter at 11:25 PM
